Chinese medicine has five main methods for the treatment of disease; Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Herbal Medicine, Qi Gong and Tui Na.
Like Acupuncture, Tui Na is based on the Jing Luo (meridians) and acupuncture points of the body, but without the use of needles.
In Tui Na the practitioner uses various hand techniques to stimulate key points on the surface of the body. When these points are stimulated, they release tension and increase the body’s circulation of blood, Qi and nutrients to bring about the body’s own healing process.
It revitalizes and invigorates the whole body. It relaxes tight or tired muscles and increases well-being to speed up the body’s ability to heal itself. It works both physiologically and psychologically, releasing the stresses of our modern lives.
Tui Na clients are fully clothed throughout the treatment. Oils are sometimes used, but never require that the client gets undressed.
